Crysis 2 Discussion

No the digital edition...It only contains in-game bonuses since this is the downloadable version. Since I come under Indian region I can get it for INR 999 which is roughly 22 USD. The nano edition would be damn expensive since it adds shipping costs and possible taxes at customs also :(.

Damn...thats too much. Its only EA games that we can get for that price. For others I either get it from play-asia or get it through steam. Either way its a bit too much. ebay has some good deals for older games. Now I am torn between bulletstorm and killzone 3. I played the bulletstorm PS3 demo and its a blast in every sense of the word. Currently downloading the KZ3 open beta.

A released beta copy is floating around torrent sites. Initially I thought it was just the MP demo that leaked, but now it seems that its a full developer build with the masterkey for online authentication.

SHIT SON.
Though on that Facepunch thread, the guy noted the leak came with CryEditor3, which elicits some respect for Crytek from me as unlike DICE they're still willing to make a proper PC game with mod tools.

Not really, Xbox versions get leaked as well (remember MW2?)
In fact some groups on the scene said that the game was leaked in response to EA Games ass licking to the Xbox community...

Even blackops got leaked, but I don't think its easier to spread a leak in those platform as it is in PC. On the other hand, this type of a leak can only happen with inside help. So Crytek has some cleaning up to do within themselves.

I bed to differ, Xbox leaks have a tendency of being easier to spread, since most PC users will just mount the ISO on their hard drive, install it, then delete the ISO, while Xbox gamers must burn the image on a DVD, meaning that as soon as they'll finish the game they can pass the DVD to a friend

Yes, but MS does punish the offenders pretty badly. In case of blops they quickly clamped down the situation. Same goes for PC if you need to share it you just share the ISO to a friend with all the portable HDDs around. My point is that there is wave of though saying that PC platform is dying since its the most pirated platform. Most developers are not giving it the due respect it deserves. Crytek was on the few companies that gave PC the priority. So when such a thing happens, its just gonna give those anti-PC crowd more ammunition for their case.

Point is : Crytek didn't give priority to the PC gamers this time, which, according to the scene, is the main reason for this leak.

Well compared to other developers they are. They even seem to have a world editor for this. This is just gonna support the anti-PC lot IMO.

This leak is really bad for EA/Crytek.
It has editor and dedicated server files, and even LAN support. So the retail version is predestined to be cracked.
But this is in no way the PC-Players, or the Pirates fault.
Crytek should have been more careful. Now they have to live with it. Its just unfair to let the PC players pay for it.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone played it and if so, what did you all think?

Well all I have to say is that I'm stuck at 82% of the download, gotta love leechers

I'm resisting the urge to try out. I really want to see how it would perform in my machine. I saw an optimized, stripped down(additional langs removed) version with some bug fixes floating around.

*Brings back a discussion*
No. In case you havent knew, the Xbox versions of some multiplatform games got leaked way before the PC versions. Xbox and PC games are more or less equally easy to leak and spread around, whether you like it or not (not that it actually matters)

The demo is pretty good. It looks very pretty too. I still could not get a stomp kill. My pings are a bit high, so its a bit difficult for me But its good. I'm happy that I pre-ordered.
