Almost anything that has to do with tactics is absolutely out of reach - in fact I can't recall the last time I encountered a player ingame that said or did anything tactically viable who was NOT one of our regular FS players. Even the best-performing clans or groups only do well because of mindless attacking enthusiasm and lack of fear of dying as opposed to tactical thinking. These flaws in thinking become especially apparent in Domination because of the spawn technicalities and attack/defence opportunities associated with this gametype.
That isn't 100% accurate in fairness. We've had several games I can remember where at least some of our opponents used TI spam for some Domination games. Whether you actually define that as tactical thinking is rather ambiguous however.....
I don't, I count that under mindless aggression. Tactical thinking means you decide on which points to hold, where to hold up, how to spread your forces, which approach to take towards the enemy and how far to push them and into what spawn point. Simply using TIs is none of those things.

Call of Duty pretty much rewards whoever has the biggest ego.
Partially true. However, I don't consider that a minus. In games too strongly based on teamwork, a good player or even a good group of players can not make a difference. In CoD, small groups or even lone players among us have made amazing comebacks, sometimes single-handedly turning the game from a practically inevitable loss into a win. In a game built around hindering players who put in that extra effort as much as possible, that would never have been possible. In CoD, the only limit to how well you can do is usually simply how much you are physically and mentally capable of.

The makers of Modern Warfare 3's multiplayer mode are creating maps that include no more than five hotspots—places from which enemy players may be hiding or shooting—for a gamer to worry about at any one time.

Yeah that I don't like. Not that maps should hold too many strongpoints, but SOME tactical mind should be necessary to manoeuvre about.
