I personally tend to kill easier with ACR, high accuraty but less firepower, some people just go with high firepower and trust their aim, balance also depends on player ;)
You are aware that Assault Rifles in MW2 have no recoil at all.......

I seriously doubt how you come into that conclusion, difference of recoil between AK47 and ACR is vast.

http://www.swfcabin..../1275223739.swf
 Of course, it's only filled with zeroes because the exact recoil values are unknown, but still :) .

Really though, to be absolutely objective, the ACR is the only weapon with practically zero recoil in MW2. Sometimes you notice that a shot actually puts your sights ever so slightly off target but the next shot will be all but invariably right on target again. Other assault rifles' recoil vary from very little (e.g. SCAR) to substantial (e.g. F2000). Really though, the difference between no recoil and ALMOST no recoil is of extreme importance because only the former allows you to put all shots into a tiny bit of exposed head of someone behind cover in fully automatic fire. An ACR can do that, and this is what makes the ACR so ridiculously overpowered (and also the favourite weapon of General :xD: ) . Saying that the ACR has less firepower is then obviously moot for obvious reasons - the ACR has no actual weaknesses in reality.

In other news, the CoD Elite thing, unattractive as it may seem, apparently already drew two MILLION volunteers. More info here: http://oneofswords.com/2011/07/call-of-dut...-logistics-faq/

I think it speaks volumes about the majority of who actually plays it.

Unfortunately, people like Stinger and yourself are in the minority. I wouldn't find playing a Call of Duty game in multiplayer if the average age raised ten years.

Well, I agree with you of course, but you have no idea of the fun we had dissing all those teenagers :xD: . It's almost become a part of the game over time... though of course this bit of fun is quite specific to us. If you're playing alone it's not nearly as much fun as making fun of pubescent teenagers  .

It would lend the game a greater degree of civilisation though, having older people around. And brains. Most players are almost impossibly dumb - unintelligent to such an amazing degree that I wonder what it must be like on the consoles where the average player age is substantially lower than even the PC. Almost anything that has to do with tactics is absolutely out of reach - in fact I can't recall the last time I encountered a player ingame that said or did anything tactically viable who was NOT one of our regular FS players. Even the best-performing clans or groups only do well because of mindless attacking enthusiasm and lack of fear of dying as opposed to tactical thinking. These flaws in thinking become especially apparent in Domination because of the spawn technicalities and attack/defence opportunities associated with this gametype.

That isn't 100% accurate in fairness. We've had several games I can remember where at least some of our opponents used TI spam for some Domination games. Whether you actually define that as tactical thinking is rather ambiguous however.....

Yeah, definitely. I guess this is why I'm a bit partial to the earlier Battlefield games - because it actually rewards you for thought and teamwork. Call of Duty pretty much rewards whoever has the biggest ego.

^This.

Now that I think about it, even Battlefield's becoming a place where teamwork value is diminishing, but at least it's better than CoD. Ironic that CoD's apparent motto is "No One Fights Alone", while almost everyone IS fighting alone and not caring about the team.

I played around 170 hours on Team Deathmatch and yes this is absolutely correct, everyone just spreads around and shoot the hell out anything they see coming behind an obstacle, thankfully there is no friendly damage otherwise I should've been knifed hundreds of times by my own team :xD: But there is something worse; I do the same thing

Imagine this in hardcore with friendly fire, and you knife yourself to death XD

No one even bothers to take down the enemy air support, which is kinda counter-intuitive, considering that you'd LOSE with a Chopper guy above you if you don't shoot him...

You do know that because this game has a mechanic known as damage view kick, that ACR becomes highly destructive as any hit you make to the enemy, will throw their aim off. Even though it does less damage per shot it doesn't matter if the guy you are shooting cannot shoot back as their aim is being fucked up by DVK

People who are saying CoD isn't a team based game simply haven't played as a team to know what it is like.

I dislike what I've read in this article. It sounds to me like they have screwed up the map design:

Quote

The makers of Modern Warfare 3's multiplayer mode are creating maps that include no more than five hotspots—places from which enemy players may be hiding or shooting—for a gamer to worry about at any one time.

Verticality was largely a problem due to overpowered explosives.

I don't, I count that under mindless aggression. Tactical thinking means you decide on which points to hold, where to hold up, how to spread your forces, which approach to take towards the enemy and how far to push them and into what spawn point. Simply using TIs is none of those things.

Partially true. However, I don't consider that a minus. In games too strongly based on teamwork, a good player or even a good group of players can not make a difference. In CoD, small groups or even lone players among us have made amazing comebacks, sometimes single-handedly turning the game from a practically inevitable loss into a win. In a game built around hindering players who put in that extra effort as much as possible, that would never have been possible. In CoD, the only limit to how well you can do is usually simply how much you are physically and mentally capable of.

Yeah that I don't like. Not that maps should hold too many strongpoints, but SOME tactical mind should be necessary to manoeuvre about.

Yes you can play as a team but only with friends, go random online and noone will not give a heck about your constructive plans, they know the best :xD:

From the latest fuckups with mw2 that I've been having, I won't touch MW3 with a really long stick. Maybe if it has dedicated servers, I'll think about it, otherwise I'll find my shooting fun somewhere else

My game works better with strict NAT than open. When it's open, it forces me to be host, I get kicked from lobbies and my game does a CTD after that. It takes AGES to find a game...

There has to be a desire to improve. N00bs are almost completely blind, deaf and stupid and will blame everyone else for their failures - accusing players of cheating, etc.
