Using Really damaged skin for your rubble skin?

I've done a damaged to really damaged transition animation, and I can't see how I'm going to use the last frame of the really damaged animation has the starting point for the rubble animation.

It is easy enough to use the final frame of the really damaged transition so you have a really damaged model, but I need a new WW skin for my rubble animation and deleting the old WW skin undoes the 'really damage transition' .

Any ideas how I can use the last frame of the 'really damaged' transition has the starting point for the rubble animation?

You could always model the rubble-model so it matches the last frame...
