I have a choice between getting both of these games and I wanted to know which one is better Sup com 2 or FA

I've palyed forged alliance alot and i have to say i like it but its a torrent so i didn't get to play much other then with a few other lan users.

I've also heard Supreme commander 2 was dumbed down so i didn't want to take a risk at getting a game that woulden't be very challenging.

So what do you guys like better and why.

Supreme Commander + Forged Alliance were the best in my opinion. It had good stories for all the campaigns, bigger maps, more complexity and a fourth faction (The Seraphim, Forged Alliance).

Supreme Commander 2 didn't have these things and the gameplay feels a bit... clunky/slow as well, but that could just be me.

Most people who have SupCom 2 only play multiplayer since the campaign is crap.

Supcom/Forged Alliance is miles ahead of Supcom 2.

There is so much more depth in the gameplay, so many more things to take into account.

Forged Alliance puts the strategy in RTS. Just sayin'.

There isn't much of a choice really :duh:
Forged Alliance is miles ahead, or more fittingly, Sup Com 2 is miles behind the earlier games.

totally agreed.

supcom 2 pretty much blows to infinity compared to FA.

add a huge number of mods to that and you're good to go.
it's time to wake up

Hmm, perhaps I should reinstall SupCom1 and get Forged Alliance. Re-started playing SupCom 2 yesterday, but I didn't got into the enemy's base even after 2 hours of fighting :xD:

Forged Alliance all the way. It's a far superior game IMO, due to it's overall depth and amount of content. Sup Com2 changed the franchise completely it's utterly different from the first game and FA expansion.

Forged Alliance is easily my favourite RTS game ever made. I've had tons of excellent matches with/vs friends. I'd upload some replays If I thought anyone would have the time to watch them.

One of the reasons I like it so much is the defences actually make turtling a viable strategy, at least when defending extractors.

Sup Com 2 just seemed to neuter the unit variety too much. Cybran get for example, around 3-4 land vehicles in SupCom2, whereas in FA they get 10-15 land based units.

Yep forged alliance is alot more intresting of a game in terms of depth , but i still can't find a good place on how to turtle in that game It seems to only work in campaign and never against a formidable player. , those defenses fall like Toys to artillary and so do some of the slow moving tanks.
