I was under the impression that you needed a WWSkin if you intended to use scaling in your animation. Apparently I was wrong, I have a sphere that is part of a skinned building and while the bone is correctly animated in Max, in W3X view, the animation plays with no scaling.

Is scaling possible to capture for an animation?

W3X Animations don't support scaling animations, since they move bones, and with it the vertexes attatched to them, not individual vertexes. And then only rotation and displacement.
