This is driving me crazy. A lot of my friends mispronounce this word, along with some other mispronounced words like "grenadier".

How is it supposed to be pronounced?

I pronounce it 'zee-a-many'.

I switch between 'gree-nade-dier' and 'grea-nay-dier' a lot.

Chyros has it right, it's "Zellot" (depending on your pronunciation, the e sounds the same as the o, for me) or "Zellet" to be safe.

Grenadier is "gren-na-deer".

One of my friends call "Zealot" ZEE-LET. I want to punch him in the face for that. I call it typically Zeh-lett, though i guess the pronounciation for it isn't set it stone as people argue about it.

The "ea" in Zealot is pronounced like the E is pronounced in "Wet", "Telephone" or "Fat".
