Kunsten at Græde i Kor (The Art of Crying)

As long as the dark foundation of our nature, grim in its all-encompassing egoism, mad in its drive to make that egoism into reality, to devour everything and to define everything by itself, as long as that foundation is visible, as long as this truly original sin exists within us, we have no business here and there is no logical answer to our existence.
Imagine a group of people who are all blind, deaf and slightly demented and suddenly someone in the crowd asks, "What are we to do?"... The only possible answer is, "Look for a cure". Until you are cured, there is nothing you can do.
And since you don't believe you are sick, there can be no cure.

I've heard that Irreversible did the backwards plot thing better, that movie is sick as fuck though.

There's also some Korean Movie, don't remember its name, that uses the same chronological storytelling. Don't remember its name.

Does anyone prefer the remake?

Anyone hardly even know there was a remake.

I've also seen the remake; tbh it wasn't bad. But the original has far more power to it in my opinion.

Thanks Chyros, you pretty much saved from having to type a list |8
I'd also add the Monty Python movies and The Warriors to that 8|

Nah, I loved how the movie shifted completely from "Romance with a somewhat interesting idea" to "Mindscrew Science Fiction" from one minute to the next.

Why, you think it was bad?

And City of God is amazing, I love how they managed to put so much plot and history into 2 hours.

And FYI: I don't do drugs, I'm this way naturally |8

Bad? It was simply horrible, on soooo many levels. SoB sacrificial bad in fact.

Vanilla Sky collapses into an incoherent jumble. Cruise's performance lacks depth, and it's hard to feel sympathy for his narcissistic character.
An acceptable critical opinion.

Meh, I liked it very much. The movie, not the SoB Sacrifice.

It seems to be a bit of an opinionsplitter though.

V is good, but it's far more preachy and less ambigious than the Comic Book.

It does some things better though.

It's different. Alien was more of a horror movie, Aliens more of a sci-fi thriller. They are both extremely suspenseful but the first one gives a more pressing feeling of hopelessness than the second. The second is still better in my opinion though (though I'd never say Alien was not a top movie - I still say it's fantastic). It's just that I find Aliens gives us much more of the universe and much more going on.

I was referring to the technical aspects of the film. I agree with you that Aliens is by far the more entertaining |8
