Short answer; it's not. I've neither had the time nor inclination to sort it out.

I hope that if the server was to be recreated, there would be a new map, seeing as how 1.8 is set for next week and will have lots of new terrain features (and a whole new terrain generation algorithm which will mess up the old maps )

Ok, Just throwing this out there... Self-Host? I know I'm a bit out of place because I don't play with you all. But I host a server on my computer for me and 3 friends. I have seen no noticeable changes in my Internet speeds. I'm about to get a machine given to me by a friend and it will run from there 24/7. Take the hassle out of paying someone else doing your work, when you can do it for (almost free).
