So... I have a Disruptor and I was wondering how possible it would be to get a firing EX similar to the TS FMV.
How would I go about achieving such an effect?

I am also interested in how feasible it would be to have the weapon act similar to TS Disruptor's damaging units in a line.

As for damaging units in a line: LinearDamageUpdate or so, look in the Sonic Emitter's code. Note that it seems to be impossible to have it damage friendlies in the Line of fire.

Have you tried asking Carnius for clues? He created his own Disruptor model and managed to fire its weapon almost exactly as the one in Tiberian Sun.

I can't remember that being the case, I'll fire it up and check it out soon.

It's nothing like the Tiberian Sun Disruptors firing style.
