Hey guys, recently I installed some new games on my PC(including C&C) but I have a problem. Most of the time my games have a horrible case of lag(to the point it runs at a very low FPS rate). Here's the specs of my 2 hard drives:

Local Disk C:

Free Space:20.7 GB
Total Size: 46.9 GB

-Here's where all my programs and games are put

Local Disk D(it's named my documents and I have no idea why):

Free Space:94.6 GB
Total Size:100.2 GB

-Not much is here

Do you think I should port all my games to Disk D to make them run faster?

All I can say is that you should always try to get the max free space on the HDD that has Windows on it to make your PC faster. But 20.7GB of free space should be sufficient for it to run normally...
If I were you, I'd check my PC for malware and disable useless services at startup rather than worry about the free space...

I'd more be thinking he probably just has old hardware (case in point - 160gb HDD, I'm sure the rest of the components are just as old too).

I thought about that, but if he's playing C&C Zero Hour, that shouldn't be that much of an issue... I can run it on my 9-10 year old PC (which has only 80GB of HDD incidentally :D )

Well my "new computer" was just given to me a few months ago. In the last one I had I could run all games smoothly since it was a better one(games like C&C3 TW) but some virus smashed all my files(especially all my archives like my Generals mod D:). Currently I'm using an older computer and I don't find it easy to convince both my parents to upgrade it or buy a new one -_- so I have to stick with this one.

EDIT:
I just checked my antivirus and I just found out that ALL quarantined files have a Trojan virus. What's even stranger is that most of them belong to a non-existing directory from G:/. Perhaps it came from my friend who used it before. You think I should delete it?

Do I think you should delete a virus? Naaah, keep it on your PC, it might reproduce and you'll soon be able to breed a herd of viruses... :D
Also, can you post your specs for the sake of knowing if it's a malware causing this or if it's just because you have old hardware?

How about the parts on your computer, like the processor, RAM, GFX and the like?

Well that won't run most modern games, I think my Windows 98 machine is faster than that.

I'd add that it would be pointless to upgrade such a PC, ause you'll end up having to change every part in it in order to make it decent.

Also, for the record, "specs" mean "computer parts", and that's what I asked for, not the list of quarantined viruses :)

It seems new to me :)

Anyway I deleted most the viruses

Also I'm using Windows XP

One more thing; I tried all games today and found out that I can run Generals and other games smoothly 90% of the time but it's the opposite for C&C3 TW and KW. They lag when there's a large map or many units.

Again, I am suprised that you computer doesn't lag with a large number of words in notepad.

Btw, new and up to date are two very different things.
