This year's E3 actually looked better to me personally than last year's. New Medal of Honour game, more info on Crysis 3, Farcry 3, Black Ops 2, and a bunch others. My only disappointment is the lack of Generals 2 to be honest :(.

Also Microsoft still pushing the Kinect :P.

The only thing that's really interested me so far is NFS Most Wanted, looks pretty good, I just hope they don't cock up the driving gameplay. The new Forza game looked pretty good as well... but I'm not gonna get that hyped up about a game I'm never gonna play.

Looking forward to the Sony conference, and seeing some more about Last of Us, and the new Quantic Dream game.

WHY DID THEY HAVE TO ADD COOP IN DEAD SPACE 3?!? WHY!? DO THEY HATE PEOPLE WHO LIKE HORROR GAMES!?

Quote

As long as the dark foundation of our nature, grim in its all-encompassing egoism, mad in its drive to make that egoism into reality, to devour everything and to define everything by itself, as long as that foundation is visible, as long as this truly original sin exists within us, we have no business here and there is no logical answer to our existence.
Imagine a group of people who are all blind, deaf and slightly demented and suddenly someone in the crowd asks, "What are we to do?"... The only possible answer is, "Look for a cure". Until you are cured, there is nothing you can do.
And since you don't believe you are sick, there can be no cure.

Because Dead Space is actually a proper horror series to start with?

It's just cheap scares. There's isn't any true horror in it after the first 10 minutes.

Dead Space had a lot of horror, Body Horror and tension, quite a lot of tension.

I've played every horror game under the sun, I've read my horror books, comics and watched my horror movies, claiming DS isn't horror is like claiming apples aren't fruits.

Last of Us and Beyond certainly didn't disappoint. Wow pretty much sums it up.

And PS1 classics are finally coming to the Vita.

I never said it wasn't horror, it's just the lowest common denominator.

I'm not sure about you, but flickering lights and predictably grotesque creatures stop being frightening after a very short time.

I liked most of what I saw so far, specially SimCity, Crysis 3, Halo 4 and Need for Speed.

Last of Us was the best for me. It was frikin awesome IMO. I didn't go through all the games yet though. Did Bioshock Inifinity had any showing this time?

All kinds of games to look forward to this year. Criterion Games doing a Need for Speed Most Wanted makes me sort of curious though, what is going to happen to Burnout? And, why no Generals 2?

Microsoft's presentation was horrible as usual. AC3 and Watch Dogs looks pretty awesome and even Far Cry 3 is better than I thought. I found Star Wars 1313 to be more interesting than expected too.

Sony made some interesting moves with the announcement of the PS Suite on HTC. Their exclusive games look far more interesting like the Last of Us and God of War Ascension.

Moving to EA, I'm also upset no talk was made of Gens 2. However, other announcements were standard. New MoH (snore), SimCity (kinda want it), NFS:MW2 (probably gonna be fun). Those updates to SW:TOR have little chance of really saving it I think.

I agree with the majority of people here. Last of Us looks great and from what I have heard it wasn't scripted, just really good AI (but that could be false), which is even more exciting.

Watch Dogs looks even better, the fact that it's the only new IP in the whole of the show (I'm not counting Book of Spells because that works on an existing franchise). How can a show about video games only show off one new and original idea for an actual video game, it's ridiculous! Thankfully Watch Dogs sounds like it could be a wonderful game and the possible tease of co-op makes it an even more interesting premise.

I wish I could attend E3 just to be able to shout "BOOORING" whenever EA sports makes an appearance.
Seriously, it's an event for gamers, what kind of gamer cares about NHL, Madden, or Fifa?

This sums up my thoughts rather well - http://www.rockpaper...ow/#more-110809

Publishers seem intent on ruining or changing almost every game franchise I ever cared about in the first place. It just seems that so many games instead of going forward, just go backwards instead. The popularisation of games has had the same effect it has on most other mediums, 95% of it turns into complete utter shite. Bit of an overstatement maybe, but so many promising games have been dumbed down or changed over the past few years.

; Seems something I read about the new simcity was bollocks, though I still won't buy it if they continue to try and shove multiplayer down my throat / smaller cities / always fucking online fucking DRM.

At least EA's always online DRM works better than Diablo's, eh 8|
