Moving to the UK

I find it pretty hard to "pick something" in a city, let alone a country, I don't really know
. But OK then, how about we get together, have some typical British lunch (I'm assuming tea and crumpets) at a nice terrace lunch place, maybe watch a movie somewhere (the new JB perhaps?), show us a bit of London you like, get a curry somewhere, get to an English pub where you show me some ales that aren't totally disgusting and get shitfaced?

Ben is in, btw. Do we have a date and a location yet? Harrods for tea maybe? Also, an anonymous tipper has tipped me off that AJ's birthday is pretty soon so we might do it in the spirit of that
.

So, 1 Dec starting at 2-ish (tea time?) in London, trough the evening, and going back the 2nd? OK with everyone?

Well folks, it's a little bit nearer the time, is everyone still good with 1st-2nd?

Ok, well I'll be aiming to head up to London at about 5 or 6 pm (want to spend the day with the little man as I am in Cologne next weekend).
I would suggest that you think about meeting somewhere easy to locate/get to from north and south main line train stations, so central (west-ish), such as Covent Garden (slightly more east tbh), Soho, Piccadilly or Leicester Square.
As to what you get up to during the afternoon..... if I were there then I'd probably suggest a bit of scoff, followed by a bar crawl around some major landmarks. I think that might not suit you all, so why not just pick your top 3 attractions and just head to whichever you want to. I have no idea if you want some culture and history or just to look around some places you might recognise.
So long as you're central for the early evening then I'll be able to find you. I am not going to suggest anywhere for food, as all of my recommendations will be rather OTT for you lot. We can just jump into any restaurant we see at about 7! It's only going to be used for soaking up the alcohol in the evening anyway.
Moving on, we should think about moving out for the evening as it'll be jammed with tourists and lacking in atmosphere. If you really want to go and see something in Leicester Sq. then we can do, but I think that we'd be better off heading to Hoxton (bit of a journey), Vauxhall (blargh, south of the river
) or Shoreditch for drinks.
Personally I think that you can plan and plan a day/night in London and it always falls on it's arse. Best bet, pick somewhere everyone can find, then wander around till you want to sit down/eat/drink. Then move on again when you're bored.

^Sounds like a plan, everyone still up for this? Time to book buses etc. methinks. I'll be contacting everyone personally on this as soon as I get home

There I was going to post about this, and you've beaten me to it Wiz... damn busy days in the office!
I like any of those three ideas that you've posted, perhaps go-karting most of all because well... if Ben's coming it'll be sheer delight with which I ram him off the road
So as far as I see it, it's meet early afternoon, piss around, pretend to be tourists, eat, get pissed, collapse somewhere overnight. Sunday I'm not quite as sure as to whether there's an intention to anything, but I honestly don't mind either way? All sounds good to me though... in all honesty very slightly 'excited' for it - should be a blast.

Strangely enough I've just had a voucher come through from Team Sport, so Karting will be marginally cheaper. The Ping Pong place is worth a shout as well. After a weekend smashing a few ping pong balls around with my mates it should be a laugh, as the beer will be flowing as well. Either/or is good for me. Doubt you lot know which end of a golf club to use anyway.....
There is a 1900 slot at the Tower Hill Team Sport Track. Total cost for 5 is £214.75 or £42.95 each.....That would be 3 races. I haven't been to that particular circuit but I know that Team Sport do good karting circuits.

I'm rubbish at ping pong but it's good fun, karting of course is always nice
. Golf would be pretty hilarious but mostly out of ignorance and lack of skills on my end I guess
. Sounds good, gentlemen!

Right, 12:00 outside Leicester Sq. station this saturday after which we start with lunch, everyone OK with that? AJ, Ben and I will be booking a place to stay - anybody else looking for accomodation? If we get a big room for several people we might be able to get a good price if we split it several ways
.

Well, once we know the score with Ion, we should be good to go. I think Karting sounds like a damn good laugh so I'll be up for that, I'll have no problem with the costing either. Just an fyi, Leicester Sq Underground station has about three exits - There's an Angus Stakehouse in between them all (iirc) which will probably make the most convenient meeting place.

Think it would be useful to have each others mobile numbers. I have Ben and Alex in my phone, but not Tom (he has mine) and Callum.....

Yus, I'm definitely down with karting as well. As soon as I know if Callum is going to come (should be anytime soon) we can book the karting. Dan, just texted you with my number.

Don't have yours either Tom, you can find my number on Facebook rather than me posting it on here. Have Dan and Ben, no such luck with Callum though - I shall slap him around later.
Ion Cannon!

No you shan't, anyway I'm 100% in now. I'll grab your number off FB Alex. Seems strange to be using proper names..
