Anyway this is getting out of hand. I think someone should lock this thread just because people don't understand what 'opinion' is. However, I think most people will agree with me that Halo is just another run-of-the-mill first person shooter.

So if someone would be so kind as to get a moderator in here than I'd appreciate it.

I agree with reaper, halo is a good game but its just a general run of the mill FPS, sure its fun especially with multi-play, but it doesn't revolutionise anything. And the rest of you why cant you just have a nice topic about halo WITHOUT arguing.

to bad grnad theft auto has an effect on people like actually makeing them go our and kill people if you have ever watched the news, never seen that anyone had influence of halo to do that, so you would rather have a game that actually make people kill other people rather than a game that is over hyped has bad controls and no cheats(cheats are a way for noobs to beat games) at least bungie was smart enough to not put cheats in. The only thing they did was put in skulls that sometimes helped you or scewed you, and you could only get them on the hardest mode. hmmm... so really halo is better than grand theft auto just unless you think its ok for people to be influenced by video games to kill other people.
o and btw to answere why halo is over hyped is because its the way our economy works, companys over hype stuff so it will sell every company does it so stop stateing "its over hyped" WE KNOW.

Red Power, if you can't make a good argument, don't even try. I never said that Halo makes people go out and kill people who look like grunts, I said Halo is just another first person shooter with its 15 minutes of fame.

Indeed SOME people say that games have that effect but they dont theyre just anti-game. A game isnt real thats why its called a "game" anyone who thinks that what happens in a game is real is mentally unstable so shouldn't be around the public anyway, and please stop doing the moderators job, if a topic needs to be locked the relevant moderator will do so.

Halo1 was an excellent game in all respects, unless you're a graphics whore. The gameplay in halo1 was incredibly well balanced. Everyweapon had it's own strengths and weaknesses, there was no weapon that was hands down better than another weapon in every regard like there is in many other first person shooters. The vehicles were a bit slippery, but last I checked video games were meant to be fun and challenging, not hyper realistic in every aspect. Halo1 was developed in 8 months by 22 people (which is an incredibly short devlopment time for those who dont know) and it definetly did not get the all star treatment allot of you seem to think it got.

Was halo2 overhyped? yes, there was an insane amounts of internet and TV advertising everywhere. You would be speaking nothing but truth to claim this game was overhyped.

Obviously no one around here is a halo fan, and I bet some of you are bashing it even though you have never played it. Anyways, I'l let you guys get back to flaming each other and bashing halo now with weak arguements such as "teh driveeing sux lol!". Have fun.

And try to drop the off topic discussions eh guys?

The vehicles weren't just the problem. The gameplay was just like any other first person shooter with guns and ugly ass aliens.

Ya the story might be a little unique.. You land on a super structure called "Halo" and fight for your life.

And Red, for the last time, if you want to make yourself useful, get a moderator and tell him to close the thread. Besides since you started this whole fight, I think you should be the one to end it.

retry_1 you dont understand, it happened a while back. 2 teenagers maybe 3 went up on a highway killed someone and took off with the guys car. later the cops caught them and were questioned. what was found out is that they were influenced by GTA. gang wars wtf are you talking about i never said anything about gang wars. o and also read the whole topic i said stright from the begining that halo was over rated and over hyped. so dont give me any bull and read, i wasent the one who started the fight switchblade was he didnt have to say anything about what i said. whoa i just was watchin a thing on tv about colimbine and it says the kids actuly made a game to reherse and they used...the same engine halo uses they just heavaly moded it

note they modded it the grandtheft auto people... no mods, its a completly different game if you mod it(most of the time) and the engine is different from the game buddy, its what the game is built around not the game itself.

Retry ur a moron. Starwars is nothing like halo 1 or 2. Master chief looks nothing like a storm trooper and master chief can take on a lightsaber its called a rocket launcher. Your just a starwars nerd. Thats another thing that was overhyped was starwars. sure it was good but ppl like watch the entire saga like 15 times. PLus the third movie sucked balls. There was no action in it. It was all a bunch of political crap. If i wanted that i could have just saved myself 6 $ and watched the news. And Ion cannon i Agree with you that halo 1 and 2 are just like any other FPS but a lot of ppl like it and thats where most of the hype comes from. It's just that fact that so many ppl like it not the fact that ppl like it too much and so many ppl talk about cause it's a fairly good game. But trust me there are much more overhyped games out there but thats not from the ppl who play it like halo its from the companies who make it and it turns out to suck horrably. like
kingdom harts or resident evil.

Can these two bimbos be warned or banned from this section? I can hardly type something when the next thing to happen is I get completely insulted by some off-topic and insulting/degrading post by renzed or his friend RED POWER. And furthermore they proceed to act like complete idiots by, and I quote TPAM, saying such and such like "still dont care and u still suck" to a completely logical arguement and piece of advice.
