Ian McKellan, a famous Shakespearean actor and the guy who plays Magneto, is gay.
Noel Coward, a famous playwright, composer, and actor, was gay.
Alan Turing, a father of modern computing and the inspiration for the Apple logo, is gay.
Elton John, a famous singer and piano player, is gay
Brian Epstein, a manager of the Beatles, was gay
Freddie Mercury, an Indian rockstar, lead singer for the band Queen, and British citizen, was gay.
There are alot of famous and gay Brits.

Actually, AllStarZ, Freddie Mercury was bi-sexual, get your facts straight. And before you say anything, it's different, because gay men would use a woman/wife as a cover-up, and bi-sexual man will take whoever. Trust me, I have a friend who's bi-sexual, so I would know.
(Sir) Elton John is definately gay though. That really sucks that Ian McKellan is gay (don't forget he played Gandalf).

My point still stands. For some reason, alot of famous Englishmen like to knock around with other men. Not saying anything against the English.

No offense to any of the british members/staffers here, but it seems the term "queer English folk" applies to this list. Again, I mean no disrespect to any of the members/staffers who happen to be of the English persuasion.

I'm not singling them out. I was reading a book about Apple, and listening to Queen, when I realized that 2 famous Englishmen were gay, and I started to think of the others who were gay too. Then I realized that a strikingly large number of well-known Englishmen prefer bees over birds.

Well, to tell you the truth, this thread is hardly political, so I'm going to lock it ONLY if it becomes flammy. No one has committed any acts of flame, so the thread shall stand. Remember, everyone has the freedom of speech.........

I can't realy think of any famous American gays, mostly because the US isn't realy the most friendly
environment for gay men and women. especially in the mid- and southwest people see homosexuality as some sort of decease that needs a cure. If anyone can make a list of famous US gays i'd be suprised

The dude who made Apple Computers isn't gay, let alone English. Alan Turing, the guy who made the first modern computer, the one which cracked the Kriegsmarine Enigma code, is. At around the time before his death and after, homosexuality was criminally punished. He admitted this while under investigation for another possible offense, and shortly took his own life by biting into a poisonned apple. Hence where the Apple logo came from.
Also, I'm not trying to say that there is something wrong with being gay, I am simply saying something I thought about in my leisure time.

What the hell? He never said that America has no gays, he is just saying that a surprising amount of famous Englishmen are gay. That's it.

Again, no one is saying that only Englishmen are gay. He is just saying, as I said a few lines above, there are a peculiar amount of gay English actors.

Elton John and Gandelf (I call him that) are my favourite actors and singers. But I don't give a damn if they are gay. They still rock. Yes...Being Gay is just a way of expressing love. I'm a 13 straight boy who supports Gay Marraige. lol
