Within the UK (and possibly elsewhere) Ginger haired people are the butt of many jokes, including one claim by my lab partner (and probably many others) that Ginger people have no souls/are evil.

Swimming pools are disinfected with a small amount of hypochlorous acid (HClO), which is a bleaching agent (household bleach is a solution of the sodium salt of this acid, NaClO, btw). That's why his hair is slightly bleached :P .

No, chlorine is Cl2, a toxic gas.

Interesting- I was under the understanding that chlorine would bleach your hair a bit (Its still definitely brown, just a lighter shade from swimming)

It could in theory but there's too little of it to have an effect. If chlorine alone would be responsible for bleaching your hair, you would also be dead :P .

Lolz at the RPG trooper quote, and yes, roleplaying a hajji was mad fun. I actually really like the headwrap, and like a lot of Marines I'll probably end up getting one and wearing it around my neck/lower face while I'm over there. And somewhat belated, but that's a beautiful pic of you.
