Funny, I got that same problem with the Orange Box on steam a few years ago : Steam forced me to redownload the whole 5 games and disregarded the fact that I had the physical support. Took me forever to figure it out.

Just browsed some places over web for support and I see that probably everyone who got it as retail copy got the same problem. Instead of waiting for them to fix the damn thing, I just will download it
