I think I might get Prototype 2 instead. It's come down to a more reasonable price on Amazon now.

Playing an FPS on console or playing an action game on a PC without controller is like going to McDonalds to order a salad.

How so? With a controller you can't hope to achieve the same efficiency level in an FPS as the one you'd get with a keyboard + mouse, just like you can't hope to compete with someone who's using a controller in a platformer if you're using a keyboard yourself.

HR

It's quite cheap on PSN (not as cheap as steam... but /care)

I'm not a huge fan of FPS, but as this has stealthy elements as opposed to take down wave after wave of enemies. Also, no multiplayer, which is always a plus in my book.

Ultimately I'm interested in the story / setting. I remember liking what I saw in the trailers when it first came out.

I'd say yes then, the story and setting are the best parts!

I never claimed you would. Keyboard + Mouse is clearly better for playing a FPS. But using a controller isn't _that_ bad. I would only ever play a FPS for its story, not its gameplay. Also, who said anything about competing? This is a single player game. It would be even more rare than I would by an FPS to play competitively.

At any rate... Seriously thinking about getting a PS Plus subscription, there is a actually quite a lot of decent free or cheap content (including Deus Ex).

Not at all, while mouse + keyboard best for FPS, when you get used to analog aiming, it feels as natural as mouse, but it takes a lot of time. I played Black and Killzone on console for good amount of time and I were having headshots as good and quick as PCs. It just takes a lot more time to getting used to analog while it is simpler on mice.

You were probably getting headshots because FPS games on consoles use aim assist; a mild form of aimbotting; something also present in DOS games like Doom when the mouse wasn't in use in games yet. With aim assist off (or possibly even with it on), even the most experienced console player wouldn't stand a chance in hell against a PC player.

Of course the mouse has easier aim (your using your whole hand instead of just your thumb :P), but that doesn't mean the controller doesn't work for FPS, Timesplitters 2 works great (and thats with aim assist turned off or on, it doesn't matter because you are playing with friends, in splitscreen!).

Splitscreen/Lan > Online

Everyone knows that is true :P

Not only FPS but I was good at aiming on RE4 aswell. In fact RE4 much better played with gamepad than mice. RE5 have same mechanics and I have it on PC but it is just too hard to aim to shits with mice from over the shoulder perspective.
