) .TBH, the snipers in CoD aren't that great, the fact that there's no actual bullet and therefore no travel time or gravity effect (let alone wind speed and recoil)
A good sniper mechanism is what you'd find in Sniper Elite v2 or Sniper Ghost Warrior (although that second game is shit concerning every other single point), and a less good one would be the one from BF3 (not Bad Company 2 though, their snipers suck as much as CoD ones)

. Of course in simulation games, where balance is not an issue, projectile bullets don't negatively affect the game, but in arcade shooters like CoD they have absolutely no place other than annoying the players and breaking the fast flow of the game.
