My MoBo is on the fritz, but if I change it, I'll have to change the CPU because actual MoBos can't handle Core 2 Quads, and if I change the CPU, I'll surely have to upgrade my RAM as well. And if I change all of that, I'll also have to get a new case for my PC...

In other news, I remember someone saying that Criterion Studios' Hot Pursuit reboot had Crysis-matching graphics. Well Most Wanted has the system demands to match :duh:

Okay, what you need to do is to get more satellites early game. I lost my first game because I didn't build enough satellites. If you finding the combat too hard, stop running in so much and pace yourself a bit more (hang back and camp), then send an assault (or a disposable rookie) into the darkness to search for aliens.

Make sure are you are never outflanked, if one of your guys is outflanked moved them to a new position, even if it means forfeiting their attack.

Upgrade your weapons and armor as soon as possible.

Buy the squad limit upgrade (6 members) and the extra experience upgrade, they will help you gain better troops.

Over watch is nearly always better than trying to fire a low percentage shot (39% or lower).

A sniper with squad sight can win you the game (I've had games where only the sniper has gotten kills.

I have some more tips, but I didn't want to write too many. I hope they help somewhat.

Never dash. Remember that. Never dash. Always move in two stages and never move the same unit twice in succession.

When you start, you are completely safe until you get a cut scene and a group of 2-3 aliens appear.

Despite the annoying voice over telling you not to use them, use explosives early game. It's not until you need to research things later game, as you should be building satellites in your first 3 months, that you need the fragments.

Overwatch is your best friend. Use it a lot. Pretend your penis will fall off if you don't. Yes, use it that much.

Don't think that just because you have awoken a group of aliens that you have to chase them down. Don't just dash into an area where you think they've gone to, you may well awaken another 3 or 6 and then you'll be truly fucked. Wait for them to come to you (that is unless you have just one left to kill after having uncovered the entire map already).

Until you come up against Mutons, feel free to bunch your units together. This will prevent you from being flanked and outgunned.

Get Lightening Reflexes for your Assault and Bullet Swarm for your Heavy. Don't waste your time with Snap Shot for your Sniper. The -20 aim penalty makes this all but pointless. Squad Sight is infinitely more useful. Covering Fire and Medic for your support.

Don't forget, cover applies to 180 degrees of the axis that it faces. You cannot be flanked, or flank unless you cross that line, no matter how close or near to that axis you/they are.

The best tip I can give you, however, is to treat the game as though you're squad are moving through treacle. There is no need to rush (with the arguable exception on civilian save missions) and you can well afford to wait the AI out and pick them off using your sniper. I haven't even finished the game yet and my two snipers have over 200 kills between them.

When you get Archangel armor for the snipers and the upgrade that increases their aim and defense against units on lower elevation + "In the Zone" they just wreck faces, forever.

If he's struggling, he's unlikely to need that particular piece of advice :xD:

Also, when deciding to shoot, do not opt for the closest or first option you have. Cycle through all of your units before you take a shot. The closest does not always have the higher aim percentage. As Dr. said before, do not take a shot with less than an aim percentage of 36% (round that up to 40 for safety).

I did most of those things anyway, but thanks. :)

I started to struggle a few missions after the Mutons showed up. Specifically when I ended with 8 of them, and 1 of the big red dudes, with only exploding cars for cover. D;

Anyways, started a new game last night, gonna take it much slower this time. :)

This is where you should be moving in 1st steps only, then ending your moves with Overwatch. This provides you "out-of-move" attempts on target, followed by 4-6 shots. If you're hitting them with anything other than lasers/plamsa learn2research faster. Always target the Bersekers first.

That said 8 is a very unlikely spawn <87

Bersekers run at who ever damaged them last, it's quite easy to ping pong them around the map, doing damage from different angles. Also only use your sniper to finish them off otherwise they will run straight for them.

I had a few lasers, but one of my main problems with my first game was monies, so I couldn't get them for all my team. D:

Got much better money flow this time though, and my squad is doing much better too. :D
