vCOH was pretty meh for the first few versions but after a few patches and OF, it is easily one of the better RTS games.


There is only a couple good RTS games out there, you mean COH inside that list or what ? :P

Yes. It's just about the last 'good' RTS game, infact. There have been so few in the last few years, and none of them have been any good (including DOW2, which is nothing compared to DC).

Total Annihilation
AOE2
Warcraft 3
Generals
Dark Crusade
COH:OF

Rome Total War and Civilisation IV aren't really RTS, so they aren't on the list.

Seems like Relic has gone down the slope that so many developers have in the last half decade.

People seems to not understand the value of DOW2, if you play it againist a good player you will see how there is so much way to implement strategy. I had so many games which I win at last seconds, I mean literally last seconds where I had around 10 victory points left and opponent have over 100s and despite how impossible it looked, a mistake done by their relaxed actions as they think they have won cost them the game. Of course vice versa was valid aswell :P
And it is pretty balanced, there was no unfair match ( unless one of the players is new to the game and one is expert ) caused by unbalanced units, there is always a mean to counter most dire situation. Though I am not sure about Chaos Rising or Retribution, since I didn't played them as much as vanilla DOW2.

Because, like COH2, the prequel happens to be a better interpretation of the formula.

In OF you get balance, base building and victory points.

In the others you can only get two of the three.
