Oh of course we are modern, this is exactly why Turkey is so fucked up. If we were Saudi Arabia; everyone would've been same, meaning sunni muslim and most of them extremist.
But here things are different. The society divided into literally half. Yes, exactly half, you can see that from the polls aswell. Half of the country votes for islamist party and half of it to the rest which represnt the more modern part of the society.
And that two half of the society completely and utterly hates each other to the end. I am surprised how a civil war not started yet. Perhaps angry mobs didn't get AK-47 upgrade yet?
Seriously when I walk on the street I always hear how people discuss on matters which they have no clue about and support the party they vote for with so ridiculous reasons that western children will probably laugh their ass off to how fucking ridiculous their supporting logic is. Oh and no need to mention the discussions at home and work.
Unfuckingbeliavable. I have suspicion that atleast %75 of the people here live without brains, how they do that is a mystery though.
