First off, the place she is going to is an American Army base that is massive (it has Pizza Hut and McDonald's ). I'm not sure they see any danger anymore, the helicopters haven't been used in weeks (her job will be to rearm/refuel the Apache's). She isn't the only person being sent, I assume she is flying out there with American troops (or English in a different regiment).

Bagram or Bastion? Only 2 places I know that have Apaches assigned...

She has a pretty lovely job. A massive army base with fast food restaurants, sounds like Guantanamo
