Dammit, the damage to my pinball machine is worse than I thought. About a dozen lamps aren't working, the plastic to both slingshots has rotten away, one of the flipper solenoids doesn't work, and the right flipper opto is dead D: .

I feel it's mostly just technological posturing. Robots will take jobs of course, well they've already taken lots of jobs. Look at the automotive industry and places like Detroit. Checkouts are going to be a thing of the past with everything going self scan. How hard would it actually be to have robots replace items on shelves?

The key thing is to make sure the world doesn't end up like a massive Detroit. A basic income is probably going to be the only way to stop people from starving to death.

If the customers fuck up the robots work, maybe then big companies would give up on the idea?

I've had it since childhood! My dad took someone's case but he didn't have any money so he gave him a pinball machine from his arcade. It's a pretty cool one, too, but it hasn't been used in years because one of the flippers was going weak. Looks like I'll have to do some repairs. The opto in particular seems a bit daunting though D: .
