I've never seen the original (I'm not a horror fan), I only went because I met up with Lloyd and he wanted to see it.

However he has seen the original and thought the new one was pretty good.

I liked it a lot better than the original to be honest, a lot of things from the 90s feel dated but I just rewatched the 1990s IT and it feels way more dated than it should - it's quite odd, a lot of 1980s media is pretty timeless but something happened in the 90s, I guess the switch from traditional special effects to cheap CG is part of it.

I haven't read the book, but I do know the outline, and I am glad they removed some of Stephen King's more disturbing parts of the book from the film.

Hmmmm, interesting. The original was certainly not without its flaws, so I'm curious about what they've done with it.
