It's almost like we need energy to survive.
The thing I really can't stand is everyone's insistence to keep BREATHING. Come on! Hold your breath for a bit.
You're making MY point

. We all need to breathe a lot more, yet you never see people obsessing over that!
Because decent air is mostly around us. People definitely obsess over air pollution and when you take air away I'm sure everyone would be upset
Also, in places like classrooms,
air quality can be linked to detrimental performance.

Of all our basic needs, food is by far the least important. We can survive three minutes without air, three hours without shelter, three days without water, and three weeks without food. Yet it's all OM NOM NOM from everybody, all the time D: .
If food was around us floating about, then yeah sure, I'll just pluck an apple from the air

. Also food needs to be varied to contribute the correct amount of nutrition. You can't just live on potatoes.
Surviving and thriving are different things. Sure, you can survive three weeks without food, but the toll and strain that puts on your body can cause lasting damage.
And then there is the mental health element that surrounds food. The release of happy chemicals when we consume food, even over the limit which our body actually needs.
