Old Doomguy is cooler in every single aspect. The new one is one of the lamest characters ever developed.

It also kinda kills the badass feeling if you're playing as a character that's already supposed to be massively overpowered, rather than just a normal dude that you make overpowered by seemingly playing so fucking well. I the newer games are basically Whack-a-Mole rather than Badass Demon Hunt.

They turned it to Gundam in latest iterations. Have no idea what the fuck was the art director thinking. Or if any directing involved at all.
