I'm sure there'll be load of people who'd want to donate - that's already underway.

As for government-backed support, that REALLY depends on what side of the line Ukraine will end up on, I think. That'd be the difference between basically Marshall Plan-like reparations, or token donations from NATO governments.

I still think these are our rather good days. Genie is out of the bottle. There is only one way this might go better: Putin steps down or removed by a coup. Look at WW2 to see how far a mad man can go.

It takes only one event, ONE! for this to turn into WW3 and as Russia pushes closer to cities closer to NATO countries, possibility of it happening will be much higher.
(If NATO does not respond to any little incident where either their material or life lost, they will lose huge confidence by members and members will feel insecure, as they retaliate, they risk getting hit back again by the retailated unit. Thus starts the chain reaction)

Hell, even some desperate Ukraine soldier can fire that last MLRS towards Poland or Romania to get NATO involved.

I think the threat of nukes means WW3 is unlikely, but isolated conflicts, akin to the cold war, are likely.

I can't see any nation risking nukes or nuclear retaliation. You can't win the world if everything is gone.
