After Effects is much better for animation, but it's a whole different UI and the keyframe system is different.

Animating to music is tricky, but very satisfying once you get it right.

I really don't know where you're getting that logic from. o_O

I mean WipEout 1-3 are low poly, but they're PS1 games, of course they're low poly.

WipEout HD has a much higher poly count, but is probably quite low poly by modern standards too, but it is a 15 year old game.
