Yeah, that's what our Brit PhD student says as well. Guess that comes from the inherent love of fish and chips.

I guess for crisps, salt and vinegar is OK, but for fish and chips, it's just nowhere near good enough.

I don't know the other languages in the asian region enough but it's just the same thing, a way to another name for POTATO CHIPS for those who can't read english

Yeah, sounds logical. Krupuk is Indonesian for (prawn) cracker. One of the many dishes we imported from the colonies.
