It's very simple. Heat a pan with oil until it's very hot. 1 minute each side approx for rare. 2 for med rare. 3 for medium. 4 and up for ruination.

If you're not sure, press into the steak with your finger. If it feels the same as your cheek, it is rare, chin is medium, cheekbone is well-done.

I didn't use a timer but when I cooked it just now, it was dark red in the insides. I put it down for another minute until it was almost ruination!

I can't do it like the youtube videos where it's light pink! :xD:

If it's red on the inside, it's rare. If it's rare with pink edges, it's med rare. If it's pink, it's medium. pink-brown, med-well, brown well. Raw-seared is bleu.
