The fear for nuclear weapons is of course justified but not in proportion to the fear of the danger that's posed by modern biological weapons. It is far easier and cheaper to develop a biological WMD than it is a nuclear one, and it is much easier to obtain, distribute and keep secret as well. It is also potentially far more devastating, by orders of magnitude, even.
