I heard someone describe Palworld as "an alternate timeline where America invented Pokemon instead of Japan" .

Hmmm, Rise of Empires: Ottoman looks interesting. In fact for some reason I'm looking at a bunch of weird films right now :D .

Mwah, I doubt it. The IP is pretty dead, EA isn't that crazy, and it's not a commercial product yet.

The game I work on uses full-on Tiberian universe material, essentially being C&C Renegade set in Tiberian Sun, and that's got EA's full approval.

Large games publishers are well known for being chill with people using their IP.

I was surprised as well but it seems EA aren't as bad as they used to be. I guess Riccitiello HAS fucked off for a while now. They actively helped Subterranean Games develop War for the Overworld as well to avoid clashes with Dungeon Keeper legal issues.

Maybe I'm placing too much hope in them, but they seem alright nowadays.

Could be opportunistic action. They don't want to spend resources on said IP, let others do it and see the reaction. If it becomes a success, they can take it from there.

It is almost always a good tactic to be nice towards others |8
