They might not be a big problem now but they will be in 20-40 years' time. Seriously i wouldn't protest for the rights of the muslims, their whole religion is based on NOT giving any right to anyone except those who share same beliefs with them.

Think I never even finished HL1, couldn't stand more of five minutes of HL2P2, and don't think I've ever even touched HL2 Oo .

Eh, it's not like the HL story is very complicated. Half Life 1 barely connects to 2. I don't think you need to play them to understand a new one.
Half Life pioneered the FPS without cutscenes and instead focused on environmental storytelling. Half Life: Alyx was amazing, so if they can bring some of that VR immersion to the flats lands I'm sure it will be fantastic.
