When you go deeper into an atom, where does it stop? It is equally hard to grasp if it is just smaller particles forever or that last particle is just made of nothing.

So far we've got protons, neutrons and electrons, and quarks and leptons. There are theories that there are particles even deeper than that, but so far there's no evidence of them AFAIK.

It's honestly not so weird. What I find much harder to get my head around is that all matter that isn't in a black hole or neutron star is made up of almost entirely nothing. If an atom's nucleus were the size of a tennis ball, the electron cloud would reach several kilometres in all directions, and the electron cloud is made up almost completely of nothingness. So only an incomprehensibly tiny portion of everything actually consists of matter.

I can't visualise it, therefore it is mindfuck. It is impossible to grasp the concept of that tiniest particle is actually made of nothing.

Fractal universe, though is still mindfuck, more understandable than matter actually made of nothing.
