How about a giant machine akin to a paint shaker holding a bottle of Coca COla downwards. During the countdown, the machine keeps shaking the coke, and when the countdown hits zero, the bottle of coke flys off into the air and comes back down to hit the target, spewing vile sugar everywhere?

A big bottle of diet coke in the ground... in the ten seconds befor it is ready a big robitic hand drops mentos in... and it shoots like a particle cannon anywhere on the map with a big brown beam with a fizz sound effect instead of laser

I like the idea of coke and mentos, but how about for an infantry unit:

Title: Mentos Blaster

Desc: Drops mentos into diet soda to propel a heavy mortar shell.

Strong vs. buildings, infantry
Weak vs. tanks, aircraft
