The Nazis had a tendency to press foreign tanks in service due to their slow production rate. They didn't fully mobilize their industrial assets till 1944.

Anyways, the Scorpion doesn't really appear to be a direct descendant of any tank. It appears that it is a heavily modified design of an older tank or it could be shit thrown together from the scrap heap
