Well... read the title :P

Because I'm sick of all these people double posting when they should edit.
I've seen it been done before so don't say it is impossible.

Rather than saying it can't be done, I'll just ask what exactly do you mean by this anyway? :P

Well, it basicly filters double posts out, and edits them into one.

Say, These are my two posts...

#1 Hello

#2 Goodbye

Double post edit merges them to make:

Hello
Goodbye.
Double post edit
_____
^Then it puts 'double post edit' there instead of edited by: name_x.

also that would mean, if you double post in a thread that hasn't been active for a while then they will just be merged and no-one will know that you have posted in it (i'm thinking mainly for the artwork threads as they are not always active)

We should be able to delete our own posts whenever we want. O-o; I mean if we can edit them why not delete them?

Because all the spamming noobs would just post, delete, post, delete... etc. With an increase of postcount for no real effort.

deleted post doesn't cause a lowering of post count. And during flame wars its very hard for mods to make out WTF really happened if the flamers delete their posts.

Also double post thing only take effect if you make a post within 5 or so minutes of your first post so the argument of coming back and posting after your post is not valid.

By deleting a post that made look the rest of the topic incoherent about it perhaps.

Anyway, if you make a double post accidentally, just call a mod and your posts will be merged.

thats the main reason, but some people were making posts and deleting them to increase there post count...

maybe you could give the delete button to certain members (trusted members)
