It's a music style , in which voices have different timelines.

i think you mean 'cannon' (as in artillery): a musical term for the same portion of a song divided up amongst a choir (or group, etc) between Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass that some section starts, another follows (exactly the same), etc, so it sounds like an echo.
