Article Update:

Location/Field of operations for current Generals in Shw 0.93 added.
Leang, Ironside, Deathstrike stated as unknown. (If anyone within the mod knows where how the 3 new Gens are going to fit in geographically and within the campaign once you guys work on Version 1, please notify me.

Article used section added.

USSR info pack being worked on, first article shown below:

"With the rising price of oil and natural resources hindering our nation both economically and militarily. The Russian Federation has announced that it will be reforming the USSR. Military analysts have declared that a reemergent communist will spell doom for the European nations unless a agreement can be reached between the Chinese government and the European Union. So far, the Russian Federation seems to have no intention of joining in the "War on Terror" and inside sources have indicated that there is even a possibility of GLA forces procuring ex-Russian Federation military equipment."

-Frontpage article from the Wall Street Journal in mid-2020

"It all makes sense, ever since the USSR came back in 2011, the world has once again gone into a "Cold War mode." Proxy wars are once again being fought, not even the Kremlin is denying that they sold a thousand tanks to the GLA. The Chinese know exactly what would happen if the USSR once again looks Southward. These recent changes are not for nothing....the reason why General Kwai got pulled from the Russian border and why the most elite tank division in China got air-dropped to Europe. It's because of the Cold War threat!
You see why General Tao is at the border? It's not a "last resort" weapon. All the new development of new mobile artillery systems. The Nuke and Siege Cannons. It's to deliver a first strike opportunity! You see this base in Belarus, no tanks, no infantry. It's all a facade by Tao. I bet my life that they have a missile with the coordinates of Moscow entered in and ready for launch within an hour of notice that either Europe or China's been invaded by the Russians. Trust me, if you guys haven't done a fall out shelter yet, it's time to do so. First the GLA, then the Russians...again. The world's gone crazy."

-A military analyst who was on a radio show in 2022. he was found murdered in his house one day later.

Up to now, we know that:

1) The War on Iraq is still far from over
2) All GLA commanders are at large
3) Iran is being a meddlesome country
4) There are GLA bases and cells all over the Middle East

5) The US is not what is used to be
6) Their foothold in Europe has been weakened greatly
7) A German/American defence pact is still in force
8) The US and China has been partners in eradicating the GLA

9) The Chinese are now the new EU
10) A nuclear attack has occurred in Mongolia
11) There are GLA cells within China
12) The Nuke Cannons and artillery are all part of the "New Cold War" with the Soviets.

13) A new USSR was formed in 2010
14) It borders the edge of the Chinese protected Europe border
15) USSR views GLA as a proxy, so it gives them toys to play with

So, what should I focus on first, the US's campaign, GLA's jihad, China's grand scheme and how the USSR fits into all this?

(It's almost 6am, no sleep yet, not writing until I don't feel sleepy.)

Edit 1: Zancloufer27, please tell me if you decided if you let me use your name somewhere along this story.

"We have contact. Enemies closing in from all directions. We need immediate air support and reinforcements." The Ranger's voice was cool and calm, delivering the information that needs to be delivered, devoid of all human emotions. After all, emotions is a bad thing in combat, especially if you're outnumbered, outgunned and have men both dead and dying around you.

"Roger that, we have elements of the 13rd Bomb Squadron and a company strength force reinforcing your sector. Evac for Whiskies and Kilos will be inbound. ETA 15 minutes." Replied the equally cold and distant voice, so far from combat and so trained to be a machine that his lack of feelings were probably genuine. "Hold on there, we'll get you out."

"Radar is down! They're jamming the signatures."
"We have visual. Holy shit...Patriot battery, zero in on the coordinates, we'll have to rely on visual targeting."
"Roger that."

"Sniper Quads, 3 O'clock!"As the Advanced Patriots batteries zeroed in and fired their missiles, the Sniper Quads continued to rumble towards the base, making short work of both men and armour. Even with the advanced guidance systems and Advanced Capability X upgrade, the distance between the missiles and the Sniper Quads allowed them to fired ruthlessly at the men behind the sand-bag wall and rudimentary perimeter defences, annihilating them as the sand bags provided little protection against the high velocity machineguns tore through them, cutting entire fireteams in half before the missiles finally reached their targets and turned the lethal machines into wrecked hulks.

"We have Wheeled Scorps at Nine!" another voice screamed as explosive missiles mounted on top of the seemingly innocent looking relics of a much older war were flying left and right, vaporising those who were attempting to make a valiant last stand in their foxholes or attempting to regroup within the base's secondary line of defense. The M551A2 tanks proved to be useless once their anti-tank missiles were fired, their advantage of a "One-Shot, One-kill" being near nullified by the enemies superior numbers and high speed. Within moments the tanks were outflanked. Although the heavy armour provided protection against the smaller caliber shells for a short time, the Sheridan's low firing rate provided ample time for them the much more quick and agile Scorpion tanks to pound them into submission, chipping away at the Sheridan's armour until a lucky shot or a Scorpion missile reduced them to flaming wrecks.

"GLA Spec Ops!" GLA rebels and local fundamentalists, under the cover of the ensuing chaos have managed to creep into the base via the sewer pipes, detonating small, but deadly bombs. Reducing part of the barracks to dust and wrecking another power plant.

"Allahu Akbar!" The rebels and fundamentalists screamed in unison, as they seemingly poured out from every possible space. From the ground, scaling down walls, appearing as if from thin air. The sounds of the Ranger's M16A6 assault rifles were joined by the signature sound of Kalashnikov firing in returning, followed by the rhythm of bursts of submachinegun fire or shotgun blasts.

"They're everywhere! Where's the air sup-" A private screamed into his headset, his fear and sense of hopelessness spreading like a highly infectious disease across the entire base, his last sentence never to be finished due to 9 lead pellets slammed into his face and torso. The private died before he hit the floor.

"Oh my god, we're all gonna die. We're all gonne die." Another private, now so scared that it was as if his mind has recoiled and lost all sense of what was going on.

"Get off the fucking Tacnet!" An older voice screamed back, trying to stop the panic going through the base. That man probably understood that if the panic goes on, then the base was as good as gone.

"Fireteam Bravo down, we have wounded." Another fireteam leader solemnly said. "Tacnet reports that we only have 83 men down already and rising. We can't hold out much longer."

Colonel McNeil frowned as he looked at his watch, it's already been 29 minutes since the distress signal was sent out, but no reinforcments have arrived on the scene. He sighed as opened his drawer and drew out a submachinegun and 3 mags. "Alright men, help is going to come, just hold out at the the CC."

Edit: Fixed up some grammer. Watch this space for a new additions
Edit 2: Gave this part a fuller ending.

After years off service the m1a2 Abrams tank was eventually retired in 2010

It proved to exspensive in a possible counter terrorist war

But the US Army had already developed a new frontline MBT,

The M2 Crusader

The main difference between the crusader and the Abrams is the lighter weight and armored
Engine compartment
and a newly developed 125mm Gun,

The Crusader have a crew off 3, and is the first US tank with autoloader

Armament

Primary: 1, 125 mm smoothbore cannon

Secondary: 1, X312 Machine gun

1, 20 mm Coaxial autocannon

The crusader is the first US Tank since The sheridan to be able to be airlifted by the C130 Cargo plane

This makes it invaluable to use in international operations

But it,s firepower is still iferieor to the German Leopard 3 and British challenger 3
___________________

China didnt have time to start mass producing the new tanks such as type98, and typ99 MBT

so the choosed to upgrade the remaining tanks they had in storage such as TYPE 89, etc

to a more modern standard, these tanks became known as battlemasters

The PLAAF Got alot of J10 but They decided to make a new Ground attack fghter that were license built Mig 35,s

They now use the J10 Primary as a Air to air fighter and the Mig as an attack plane,
____________________

When the Aurora spy plane was about to enter service in 2011 they were qouickly refitted with guided bombs to use against the GLA

Anyway, PLA, your story is cool and intensive as always. Good to see you write again, hoping for more soon. Reading this kind of reminds me of the village scene from Saving Pvt. Ryan with never ceasing hordes of huns rushing against a handful of Rangers desperately wainting for reinforcements. It also brings back memories to the glory days of BF2. Some situations almost felt like Call of Duty.

"Yesterday, the DoD has issued a press release stating the cancellation of the M1A6 Abrams modernisation project due to increasing fuel prices caused by terrorist activity all over the Middle East and other oil producing countries. In a move called by many military leaders and men currently in uniform as "Worst mistake of our lifetime", the DoD has also planned to mothball all current M1A5 Abrams tanks in favor of the smaller, less armoured but more fuel efficient Crusader tank, a join venture between the German Army and the US Army.
The Crusader tank is mounted with a smaller cannon than the M1 series and carries no anti-personal weaponry in a bid to prove that the new combat drones will replace the need for anti-personal weaponry in military armoured vehicles, especially MBTs. Also, manufacturer BAE have stated that the tank's minimum crew has been reduced to one to limit casualties, the DoD says that this approach provides our sources with a "unprecedented advantage" with the reduction of crew training and upkeep compared to the M1 series tanks. Critics have so far called this move an "endangerment to our country's military personal". BAE spokesmen refused to comment on the tank's crew survivability other than that "We try our best to limit casualties."
So far, the new Crusader tank has received largely negative reviews from testers. Testers from the US Army declared that the tank is "unable to damage enemy targets at long distances", "a coffin with wheels" and "has armour made from cardboard". In addition to this, a unconfirmed source has revealed that due to funding issues, the Crusader tank will not have DU armour nor composite armour until proper funding can be located individually for all branches of the US Military.
A German colonel who was part of the development of the new tank was shocked at the approach that the US Army is going with the new Crusader tank. He said that, 'It was never our intention to use the new tank as a replacement for our heavier Leopards like what your country plans to do to replace the Abrams. Our goal was to find a tank light enough but with enough firepower to operate in wetlands and within the country to prevent the cracking of roads. This is madness, removing the world's premier, battle tested tank with the highest crew survivability for a high-tech Sherman/M60 Patton hybrid that somehow uses a pilot training program to train tank crews."
The M3 Crusader tank, is armed with a 105mm M68A1 rifled tank gun only, the elaborate and complex electronics of the tank allows the tank to fire up to 18 rounds per minute, although the faster firing speed doesn't allow it to compensate for the smaller rounds. Technically, the tank is able to fire APFSDS, HE, HEAT, HESH and dummy rounds, although only custom built APFSDS rounds are issued in practise. The tank is capable of upgrading to the M3A1 variant, which gives the tank a composite armour upgrade enhancing the tank's armour. Both variants of the M3 tank are capable of controlling the "UAV AC package", which installs either the MQB-147B 'Dragon Fire' Hellfire Drone, MQ-186 'Cypher' Combat and Repair Drone or the RQ-15 'Tiny' Reconnaissance Drone. Although the M3 Crusader is a joint venture from all branches of the military, the United States Airforce and Marines have not ordered any tanks and the United States Army has stated that a "new tank" codenamed the "Wraith" is in the development phase already.

The crusader got more firepower than the abrams,

But weaker armor

The manual states that it got a 125mm gun, not a 105mm

and no tank can operate with a crew off 1,It might seem possible in BF2, But imganine driving a car and using a sniper rifle at the SAME time

The Crusader is a Regualar MBT,

You can see a MG (X312 or M240 ) on turret in the cameo

The pilot thingy was due to Lazy EA

Seriouisly what the fuck , do Humvee drivers wear Gas masks? and G SUITS!

And got training to operate all USA ground vehicles?

Generals is a retarded game,

EA Should make separate "drivers" for ground units or tank crews for tanks

All this bitching all the time, Generals was never supposed to be realistic. No CnC game ever was. Live with it. EA was lazy in certain parts but others like the Pilot thing is simply gameplay related. Sure, it's not realistic, but it works, doesn't it? Realism in games can be fun at first glance but after some time, it gets annoying to see all your infantry die to a single machine gun. Now please stop riding around on the names of tank turrets as nobody really cares if it's a 105 or a 120. This is creativity centre and art has to do with the freedom of the artist or writer to design his creation the way HE wants it. It's based on a FREAKING GAME and I doubt that PLA made this thread to get his writings rated by the amount of realism they contain.

'The director and author of the article 'Strategia' stand by the facts given by the article. It is a common misconception that the Crusader would be mounted with a 125mm smoothbore cannon, but the idea was later rejected in favor of using a 105mm cannon due to the large amount of surplus tank rounds left for the 105mm cannon and lower maintenance costs.' The crew number given in the article is correct. BAE systems has confirmed that the electronics onboard include an autoloader, a fire control system and a guidance package that is similiar to those used in the F-16 fighter, reducing the needed crew to one.'

Due to mounting criticism concerning the lower survivability of the M3 Crusader, BAE systems have declassified the tank operator compartment, listed as the GLAES (Ground Level Armoured Ejection Seat). The system is capable of ejecting the tank operator up to 6 meters above the ground in a titanium alloy 'bubble' at command or when the electronic systems have detected that the tank is no longer mobile or destroyed, this ensures that the operator is protected from being injured by the tank explosion or shell fragments, but the protective 'bubble' is destroyed it falls back to the ground, putting the operator or 'pilot' at risk from enemy actions.
Testers have confirmed that this system does exist and so far has no failed once. However, the system and the blast that is used to propel the GLAES off the ground completely destroys the tank, rendering it unsalvageable and subjects the operator to extreme force and potentially toxic gases as it lands by onto the tank's debris. This disadvantage is currently being the interim solution of the operator wearing a Air Force pilot G-suit and oxygen mask, which gives the M3 Tank Operator a look that is similar to that of a pilot.
It is unclear whether or not the G-suit and oxygen mask is compatible with the Air Force's aircrafts, our military analysts have suggested that this possibility is "highly likely" and will probably be compatible with other ground vehicles as the US Army undergoes a new modernisation project due to the fact that large amounts of the GLAES modules have been ordered from BAE systems (more than enough to outfit the current amount of M3 Crusaders deployed) and a unconfirmed source indicating that M3 Crusader pilot training program is identical to that of the Air Force pilot aircraft simulation program.'

The crusader is a humvee with dummy turret and tank body over it to scare enimes,

but recent testings against the GLA have proven little effect, it,s oversized pea-gun doesent even damage infantry

Just kidding, i will maybe remake the Crusader to be more realistic and larger, sometime
