"Boycotting" something implies that you not buying it will have an effect on the policy of the company supplying it. People have been boycotting C&C games since Generals, as far as I can remember, and it hasn't done a lot.

I instantly lost a hard-on when I read the words "Empire of the Rising Sun". Sounds like they just shoved in there for little other reason than their apparent love for tripartite faction games.

I have never missed a C&C title and I will certainly not miss this one.
-I know EA is evil [insert rethoric] but hell, a new RA title does not come out every year and this may well be the last, so yeah I'm getting it. As for those of you who are saying you will boycott EA you may as well try to prevent the sun from rising. That and you will eventually buy the game anyways.

I'm not boycotting EA, I'm just not buying or at all playing this particular game.
But maybe it is a bit pre-mature. Still. As far as it sounds, it sounds horrible. Its more like RA-featuring-third-party-mod.

Well, RA3 does generate mixed feelings(Japan=good/Fugly Apoc Tank=bad), I don't think anyone could pass judgement on it until at least the beta.
I will probably end up getting it if only for the gameplay and keeping up in CnC.And the fact I like commies-even though I'm an Objectivist.

I'm not anything like an expert regarding Starcraft but as far as I can see, SC2 will be a blooming rainbow compared to SC1 which was mostly dark and gritty.

About boycotting RA3...seriously, are you nuts? All we have regarding this game are a few screenshots. I'm sorry, but I'll withhold any talk about it until I play it. For the record, I don't really like the new Apocalypse Tank either.

About SC2 when you look on screens its same SC1 only graphic improved.But sure it will be new units.

actually as far i can see, half of the new units are old units with a new model, and the actually real original units are beging droped, last i hear is they wanted to drop the Thor, to me as far as i know starcraft 2 looks more a expansion pack

Trust me when I say that SC fanboys will go OMFGOMOFMGOMFOGMOFMG if Blizz removes any original unit. Things like improving the interface, like selecting more than 1 building at once make them go crazy and angry at Blizz. Main thing in mind for Blizz is to not mess the game up.
For me I'll dislike the Japanese Faction. I don't hate Japan or anything but like Allstarz said, it's like they just threw Japan in there like "well we need 1 more faction...either we have some sterotypical middle east terrorist faction or a zerging chinese faction or Japan; we'll make up the storyline so it just fits in". What the hell would you think if they just made Australia or Canada a faction?

Maybe they do have a good reason to add Japan. In RA1, Hitler was chrono-killed, but that shouldn't stop Japan from rising to power. Hell, they were attacking countries before Hitler began his European Tour (in reallife, not RA universe)... I think it's just logical that Japan is added now.

well after play ra2 again......there is the memorial of the attack in pear harbour so.....
1-was a possible Soviet attack in the RA time line
or
2-it was a Japan attack like in ourtimeline
based in the fact of Korea beging a Allied country in RA2, and after all Japan anexed Korea in 1910 till 1945(when they surrender at the EEUU) the option 2 is the most realistic
now we know in RA3 the Rusians broken the timeline(again), they probably do something and the Japan-USA war never ended
but yeah. Japan is probably the best choice for a new side

my problem is exactly that, fans want Starcraft 1 again, and looks exactly we will get that, and the worst of all, we have a great chance of get the same ten years old playing style of starcraft 1.....all with the cost of a complety new game
