Certainly another rip-off of Firefox-- except 80% more insecure.

Been following IE8 development.

So far IE8 is suppose to pass Acid Test 2 which Opera, Safari, Firefox 3 have already passed.
IE8 will also have 2 "Compatibility" mode (One is IE6 and IE&) because many sites that were "Designed for IE" would just not work with IE8 because it actually follows web standards. Because of this you will have to select "(In)Compatibility mode" to access these sites. Billions will have to be spent world wide to finally make websites follow web standards rather then just making them work with IE7. Web Designers will be having a nightmare for 4 years atlest because they have to code websites for IE6, IE7, IE8 and Web compliant browser (Firefox, Safari, eopera etc.)

Prehaps you can say that you've designed the site to be viewed in IE8 or FF and provide links? This way theres ony 2 you have to deal with.

Anyone not using the latest version of their browser should be shot. several times.
Anyone not using FF should be mutilated.

I agree, this is very annoying. I for one only use Firefox and will continue to use it, but lets hope IE8 is better than IE7

IE8 Beta 1 is out. If anyone wants to try it out, you can get it from here (Vista) or here (XP).

Firefox has always been my first choice browser since i knew there was one other than IE (monopolising the internet eh?). It suits me far better, and as pointed out above, the only thing IE8 will be will be more time for developers and less time for fun and information on a yet another buggy system. Shame - i only use the damn thing to check outlook web email and msn related stuff. That's it and it will never hold a large part in my life again - good riddance - but it's not old rubbish - it's the same continuous stream with a new name and a pretty cover.

Too true - loved that line hence my new sig... Ah well what's the betting that IE8 contains a 'brand-new unseen feature' that appeared in Firefox 3 release a few weeks before IE8 gets released?
