Well, looks like Crytek have officially become like every other game developer and put consoles first.

Oh here we go...
Anyone else played the demo? Been on it all day today, its a blast. Really fast paced, the armour abilities are great fun and seem to be well balanced (at least, for now). Shame ive maxed out the ranking on the demo tbh.

No and I hate you, I recently sold my 360.
TheDR 25 Jan 2011
Considering we are a gaming forum we have relatively few Xbox360 gamers, I've just noticed how many we actually have
I wish i could play it, it sounds great, i hope Microsoft just payed for a timed limit on the demo and not exclusivity D:

I do. And Warhead is a bit less of a resource hog than Crysis itself.
@Pav:3d: Yep. Here we go. Because it sucks that every major (and some minor) game developers out there are suddenly shitting on the PC.

Crap quality video but it still looks pretty good for a console game.
Also, you might notice that they've taken a few bits and pieces from a certain well-known franchise.

Yes, theyve borrowed heavily from CoD, but theyve made some great tweaks.
Notably theyve made the killstreak system so brilliantly anti-camper, and means killstreaks arent spammed like crazy either. You cant just sit in a tower and rack em up, you need to collect the dogtags from the bodies of your victims in order to progress up the killstreaks. Thankfully other players cant take them
Its really great to play a fast paced FPS which is low on the annoying-bullshit-ometer.
AR's still rule (seriously, stat-wise the default AR has more power than the default shotty...), but with the nano-suit abilities other weapons can be used well too. The pistol is really powerful, reminds me of the Halo 1 uber-pistol.
The default map is quite fun, at first its rather compact but it has many little paths running through it, with the main killzones constantly changing.
I hope they come up with some interesting new game modes, since Crytek UK is made up of former Free Radical employees (Timesplitters devs)
On the flip-side I hope they really pay attention to the balancing, since there is stuff here just dying to be exposed im sure. Also the hit detection was a bit glitchy.

A "certain" franchise, I see the point Good thing that killstreaks aren't campers-delight anymore.
Good thing I'm getting an Xbox this week, might try this out.

Damn! I think this dog tag thingy. Initially I was not planning to buy this on PC. Now I feel like getting it for the MP experience . I think the sys reqs are lower than the first crysis and warhead since they removed jungle and water heavy environments to be able to get it into consoles.
btw can you play as the Aliens in MP?

Knowing Free Rad they haven't had much control on this project as i doubt they would of made a CoD clone D:
All i can hope is that it sells reasonably well so Crytek UK can get back to what Free Rad should of done years ago

And in case someone didn't get that he means TIMESPLITTERS!!!
Back to the topic: Have to say the mp looks surprisingly interesting. Would have been nice if they had released a PC demo too but what can you do...

I could not resist it anymore. I pre-ordered the limited edition from the EA store!
