It's pronounced the same, it's just spelt the old way.
Although more often then not we use 'prison' over everything else, but when jail is used, the official way to spell it is gaol.

He is allowed to have friends round to the ball, on Melbourne's dockside, for Australia's games and even had a visit from a minor celebrity, singer Dannii Minogue's partner Kris Smith.
So I guess Adam will be living in depression-driven isolation now that Australia has been knocked out of the tournament with 18 days to go. But no matter, he's got clean underwear, a PS3 and a visit from the D-list boyfriend of a C-list celebrity to keep him pushing on!
"I had a bit of trouble at the start -- it's a bit difficult having people peer in through the windows 24/7," he said.

Fortunately, a representative from the Guinness book was there to record the short-lived creation.
It took 628 kilos of flour, 508 kilos of sugar, 350 eggs and 18 kilos of butter to make the bricks of cake used to build the pastry tower.
But the huge cake is not edible and will be turned into fertiliser.
Some pieces of the towering cake will be on display in an exhibition at the architecture centre until Sunday.

Sonkajaervi village, located some 490 kilometres north of Helsinki, has in the past 15 years made its entertaining wife-carrying competition known around the world.
This year, 51 teams from 13 countries including Australia, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates competed in front of a crowd of 4,000.
The race was inspired by the legend of a local thug, Herkko Rosvo-Ronkainen, who lived in a forest in the late 1800s and is said to have snatched food and sometimes ladies from villages in the region.

Last month, a post on 4Chan urged users to all search for the term "Justin Bieber Syphilis" pushing it to the top of Google Trend's Hot Searches list.And over the weekend, Justin Bieber videos on YouTube were the target for internet hackers, redirecting users to adult websites or triggering pop-up messages saying that the Canadian singer had died in a car crash.
Google temporarily suspended commenting on videos and issued a statement saying: "We took swift action to fix a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability." The vulnerability hole was patched a few hours later.
His Last FM page was also hit, with photos of the singer replaced by pornographic images.
There have also been false rumours circulating that Bieber had died, that he had joined a cult, and that his mother was offered $50,000 to pose topless in Playboy magazine.
"Let's take some time to answer some crazy (rumours)... I'm not dead," Bieber wrote in just one of his Twitter postings.
And last week he posted that "My mum is a moral woman... let's just leave that one for what it is... because that rumour just grossed and weirded me out."
