I'm just starting to make sigs, so please help! What is a render?
Quote

Alias's Photo Alias 20 Apr 2007

An image, usually cut out that is the main focus of a sig.

@Anyone else, don't diss this guy for reviving, because this is pinned.

1. How do you add a backround? I have a cool robot with white backround. How do I put flames for the backround?

2. When I do image size then pick the dimensions, the robot shrinks. I want it to focus on likw the torso. How do you do that?

Wizard's Photo Wizard 23 Apr 2007

1/ Cut your robot out to make it a render, then "create" your background from scratch *simultaneously pinches one from online*
2/ Change the canvas size not the image. Option below in the "Image" menu.

it is best to decide on the sig size from the start, i.e when creating a new document, select the size you want, then paste the render in and resize (ctrl+t)

to add a background you need to remove the white from the layer, this can be done by using one of the lasso tools, simple eraser or if there isnt white on the picture then the colour selecter tool

Add some lighting, try to make the render less grainy, maybe improve the text effects.

How do you render stuff with alpha or additive shaders in 3ds max
Quote

Slightly Wonky Robob's Photo Slightly Wonky Robob 31 Aug 2007

Rendering>Render Then click the render button =P

Assuming your meaning in relation with ZH/CnC3 you need to use normal materials rather than w3d (or whatever w3x use) materials
