It’s the whole process not just the taste and color. You have to put an Absinthe spoon over your glass, put a sugar cube on the spoon and pour the Absinthe into the glass through the sugar cube. You then set fire to the sugar and it melts into the Absinthe. That takes a bit of the fire away, its still 55% so you have to easy on it, no room for noobishness with that alcohol content.

Plus, Absinthe is almost the same as Pernod and Petit Ricard, Both excellent aperitifs before food. The only differences between afore mentioned drinks is Absinthe as well as containing lots of botanicals and herbs, some Randomonium, Promethium, Plutonium-186, and Quantium-40 is filtered through Kryptonite crystals. http://en.wikipedia....ctional_element
