I just got thinking after I've read some posts of peoples opinion's of Nod and GDI and I was wondering, what does the CNCreneclips comunity think?be it for units, playstyle, storyline, tactics tell us which faction you've supported throughout the command and conquer series.

personally I think that there is no right or wrong answer because I've played all the command and conquer games up to this point, and they've never portrayed one side "evil" or one side "good" but command and conquer 3 definitely has said that GDI is good and the Brotherhood of Nod are evil, as up until this game they have never openly used suicide bombers and terrorist tactics. as far as units I like pretty much everything from nod and not too much from GDI

Nod would have to be my choice because although GDI controls the blue zones, all they're helping is the rich and leaving the poorer people in the yellow zones left to die. although gdi does have some kick ass units

I think they still said it wasn't totally black and white (or evil and good), at least, that's what the magazines I read said about it :locky:.

I personally have never really had a preference for either side to be honest. I think I'd have to play the game and see the full story to make a decision storywise. I do agree that poor people should be helped as well.

The opressors must die! Tiberium is the future! We fight for Kane!

;D

I'd trust NOD over GDI anyday. GDI is just made up of the most greedy and expansionist nations on Earth (and in majority most of the founding member nations have fallen and what's left is in a serious mess). With each passing war the world gets to see more of the light of Kane's wisdom and over 80% of the world's population rallied to our calling.

Why fight for a global expansionalist and opressist police state (AKA GDI) while you can fight for NOD and defend your homes that have been abandoned to their doom? One Mission. One Purpose.

Here is a partial transcript from a Nod orientation briefing for new recruits:

“Welcome to the Brotherhood of Nod. You have joined a global order with millions of members all working together in harmony to unite the world in the name of peace and realize the true potential of mankind.

Our relationship with Tiberium has always been greatly misunderstood. Most people do not realize that the roots of our faith extend back several millennia, long before the emergence of the green crystal on Earth in 1995… an event prophesized by our great leader, Kane.

While the fascist political consortium of wealthy nations known as the Global Defense Initiative attempted to control the sacred green crystal, the Brotherhood worked tirelessly to acquire samples of the precious crystal… to study it, to unlock its potential as a new energy source, to explore its possibilities. Through our research and our faith, we have affirmed that Tiberium is the ultimate gift to mankind. It is the key to the future.

Our movement grew rapidly throughout the first decades of the twenty-first century. The mainstream media branded us as ‘terrorists,’ but we exposed GDI as the real criminals. They unilaterally redrew international border lines, relegating Nod followers into inhospitable Yellow Zones while they claimed the pristine and exclusive Blue Zones all for themselves.

Meanwhile, the Brotherhood champions the common people – the 80% of the world’s population that struggles to get by in Yellow Zones torn by war, wracked by poverty, and abandoned by GDI. Using Tiberium to fuel and fund our efforts, Nod works tirelessly to bring order from the chaos. We make the streets safe, distribute food to the hungry, provide emergency medical care, minister to those who feel a spiritual vacuum, and inspire hope in people who would otherwise have none.

GDI casts itself as the world’s guardian and savior, but they are neither. GDI is corrupt and unjust: 20% of the world’s population – the most wealthy people on the planet - live in the Blue Zones, consuming the majority of the world’s natural resources, wielding their vast military power to maintain the status quo by depriving the downtrodden of their god-given right to mine and exploit Tiberium.

The powerful oppress the weak in the hollow name of freedom and the only counter to GDI’s power is the Brotherhood. Nod meets strength with strength in the name of peace and progress. Nod is the only hope against GDI tyranny. Brotherhood… Unity… Peace.”

It used to be I played a lot better with GDI than I did NOD. However, with the introduction of CnC 3, it's NOD I play much better as. Yes their stuff isn't as heavily armoured, but it's the fact that you can mass their stuff quicker and more easily. Yes I'd rather have the Predator and Mammoth, but who says you can't play as NOD and steal GDI tech? :D Besides, the Avatar is bad@$$. :locky:

You know what would be very cool? The avatar also being able to salvage 4 of the enemies' units (via tech steal), but have a total capability of only holding 4 salvaged pieces. That'd be very nice.

I think he meant it more storywise and not gameplay wise..so not looking at units but at their ideas.

APC = Unit Garrison/Mine Planter? (Both Possibilities seem juicy.)
Pitbull = Stealth Detection? (They did it with the Nod Bike.)
Rig = Healing Arm (Only Half Heals?)
Mammoth = Assistance Missile (AA FOR THE AVATAR FINALLY!)

And then four Firehawks and 6 orcas come and put your expensive, coveted Avatar into a long, deep and pieceful sleep, followed by an Engineer popping out of a transport, stealin' yo precious cookie!

I... have always liked Nod. Kane is just... well, if he were the Dean, he would be one hellova Dean =P

Avatar with 4 mammoth cannons and an obelisk laser = imba!

I'm definitely Nod. I always take the underdogs, be it the Soviets or Nod.

GDI FTW. Some help nod gives to its people, poisioning them and using them for inhumane experiments. Nazi concentration camps anyone?

@ Avatar w/GDI weapons: :D "Avy this, Avy that, Avy's so uber it's not even uber..." Mammoths and Juggernauts are all you need.

Why steal, when someone close is mental enough to supply Nod forces with GDI tech? :D

I'm with the Global Defense Initiative, ever since the Tiberian Dawn. I've never been into stealth and sneak tactics and always prefered brute force. That is till brute force meets up with an Obelisk of Light.
