I'm pretty sure there will be Zergtoss, but most likely similar to infested terran, when you infest a nexus or W/E.
I *really* hope they don't butcher the storyline,, although I'm not a huge fan of the graphics at the moment, I'd play it regardless just for the story continuation. Towards that end I *really* hope they havent forgotten about all the important aspects including:
A) The Xel Naga
B) Duran (is he Xel Naga? He's definately not Zerg)
C) The protoss / zerg hybrid
D) Arcturus, Raynor and all the other split terrans.
Unfortunately I dont hold much faith in Blizzard's (or any game company's) storytelling skills these days, despite the ability to apply it into game content. There could be 'vanilla' sides,, for instance Terrans led by Arcturus Mengsk, Protoss led by Artanis, and of course the Zerg led by Kerrigan.
But in my mind there's huge potential for hybrid factions, like a Protoss/Terran side led by Raynor and Zeratul, a Zerg/Protoss side led by Duran, and although there's nothing existing, as Brood Wars showed there's plenty of ways for the terrans to control the Zerg.
Mmmh,, yeah,, maybe i'm going over the top, but I loved the storyline, and I just really hope they dont mess it up. EA already disappointed me with C&C3 (it was good but the end was just too bland)
EDIT: Now I look at it again, I kinda hope the graphics stay a bit cartoony, it's a trait of Blizzards products i wouldnt like to see go,

There's no fourth race. The Starcraft 2 site clearly states:
Quote
Three completely distinct races: Protoss, Terran, and Zerg

that doesn't say anything if you were planning to add a 4th race to a game which always used to have 3 you'd probably keep it a secret too.

Huh? Come on, even if you don´t like the setting/gameplay that much it will be an above average game.

Two interesting articles:
Starcraft II Art Design
Starcraft II Gameplay
The game will ship with mod tools for the map-editor. Looks like they are expanding it even beyond WC3's mapping freedom.

If there will be a 4th race it would probably be campaign only.
And did you take a look at that cinematic? They're getting even better.

There's absolutely NOTHING wrong with the game whatsoever. It looks like they are aiming to please the korean hardcore scene and the worldwide fanbase simultaneously.
Might be but what I've seen from the gameplay videos so far looks exactly like Starcraft 1.
Slow moving ships, unit selction, even the maps.
I think this one will really be for the Korean "pro gaming scene" only.
It's not like the step from Warcraft 2 to 3 in gamedesign and gameplay.
As someone stated before it has the look of Starcraft 1.5.
But I'll also wait and see how the game shapes up.
PS. People that go uuuh and aaah when they see a video presentation scare me.

@Allstarz
Blizzard is the rockz00rs when it comes to CG-cinematics. Can´t wait for the day when they finally release a game with such graphics.
Damnid Blizz, give us some more Kerrigan shots...
Incase that it´s the Zerg/´Toss-Hybrids then hopefully they are. Otherwise, it would totally screw up continuity... *searches his pink fanboy glasses*

Check the full shown gameplay demo at IGN
http://media.pc.ign....126/vids_1.html
I know most of it was described already, etc... but it's interessting to watch it. I only watched 3 and 4 so far, now continuing to 1. The mothership effects look awsome.

I don't know bro's... even though the cinematics look great, as do the details on the units etc. I was kind of expecting something a little more along the lines of 3D landscapes which you could zoom into like Warhammer (down to horizontal plane ground level.)
This really does look like a Starcraft 1.5 so far, but as of yet these are still early days. I do hope they get their act into gear however and not churn out a half-assed job simply for the sake of selling quickly.
When I thought of Starcraft 2 I imagined being able to get down and dirty on the ground level with the Terrans battling the Zerg, or zooming right out so they look like ants to see the Wraiths battling with the Protoss Scouts up in the clouds. I wanted to be able to torch the battlefield from ORBITING, mammoth Battlecruisers' Yamoto Cannon's in a similar fashion to Generals abilities, and have massive space-battles of huge Cruisers and tiny Wraiths raining fire upon one another like in Empire at War.
So I can't say that these impressions have lived up to my expectations as of yet... but I'll wait and see.

Thats exactly what I was expecting from SC2.
I mean it hurts after playing Company of Heroes and Dawn of War to see this old school way of RTS design.
I think a Diablo3 would have been better. There I really wouldn't be mad if they would stick to the old concept.
But maybe we've seen the "Starcraft Korean pro gaming nerds edition" and the good things are yet to come.

I for myself keep them fingers crossed.

Guys this is STARCRAFT II and not W/E game you like in Starcraft disguise. What the hell is the problem with keeping some original style? What you describe sounds like something totally else. Either be glad that it still is Starcraft or play W/E the other game is you want it to be, I'm sure there's something.

I think this one will really be for the Korean "pro gaming scene" only.
That's the feeling I get... 'pro' players really don't care about graphics in the slightest. They could have made it use 640x480 resolution and the 'pro' players will still love it.
That, or the 'Pro' players will play it for a week and then go back to SC1...

"Hell, it's about time."
I'm glad to see that there is going to be a sequel to one of the most popular games of all time.
Only gripes:
-No fourth side? Starcraft was the first RTS to have three sides, and there were four sides in Warcraft III, this seems like a step back.
-Looks pretty much like Starcraft in 3D with some new units...hope they add some new gameplay features. Still, the game is early in development.
About the graphics: Blizzard games usually don't have amazing graphics that require the latest computers to run, as they wish to have their games open to a variety of computers.

So it's Korean fanservice just because you don't like the graphics style? That's world class argumentation, right there.
EDIT: Starcraft2 site updated with high-def gameplay video now. The video appears to be the conference videos without speech. (there has been gameplay vids out at youtube since 19th may btw.)
http://www.youtube.c...h?v=-x0tS506hdk
And here is said youtube vids. Just follow this one. They are kind of awkward because they lack the commentary from the conference and because the korean speech from the big intermissions is taken out.
http://www.youtube.c...MSZRW3HCe0&NR=1
3/4 of these vids... The black hole effect is one of the coolest things I've ever seen.
Notably missing from the commentary here is that the mothership was made invulnerable for demonstration purposes. Also missing is the commentator saying that the Terran and Zerg will have nothing in the likeness of a mothership, which will maintain the extreme skewing of faction similarity and perhaps shed some light on how balancing the game has taken 4 years and probably will take 2 more.
