lol at 1337 sig.

But rather than that abstract background, how about finding a decent backdrop on google or something. and downloading some custom fonts.

Makes a sig look much more personal.

Also if you actually want to get better you need to download gimp or something, or you will never progress from the limitations of paint

=/ sorry.

I guess you havn't used for long.

Look around for tutorials. That's the fastes way to learn, but experiment aswell. Mess about with any and all settings you can in order to get comfortable with the program.

Those sigs, to me, look like you have done some sort of cloud render, put the image on top then added text, no offence, but they are rather basic.

Lol, my first ones:

They were very basic and took me ages. Basically copy and pasting stuff.

AfterFlash, if your Sig isn't exceeding the height limit I don't know what is.
Do you really need 4 Images, plus text, plus gaps?

In response to the Sigs you've posted, I agree 100% with Warbz.
Google some Tuts before my eyes bleed and fall out.

Yeah, as much as I see, Warbz is trying to piss you.
In the meantime I patiently try to get in the MG.
Good luck in the Sig-making!

What the hell is going on?

Have I missed something?

Trying to piss him off? With what?

With this?

Comments like the above start flame wars, and I will NOT have those happening on my watch. Afterflash, you need to learn to take what people say to you about your work with a grain of salt. Yes, I know that is not always easy to do, and I understand that, but if you want to improve on your sig making, listen to the constructive criticism other members pass your way.

By the same token, most of the members on this board should know better than to flame someone's work, no matter how unpolished or "ugly" it is. Look at someone's artwork (especially first timers), and think "what would they say if this was my first time?" If it isn't all that great, be tactful with what you tell them. Don't beat around the bush, but be honest.

Now that I'm finished with my peace-keeping rant, on to the sigs:

Everyone has to start somewhere with their creations, am I right? AfterFlash, you are just starting to make sigs, so I would hope no one expects you to be turning out sigs and have them look like you've been doing this for years. The time will come when you can do that, but it won't be now. You have to work at it. Warbz did exactly that and now look at his artwork. Take a gander at Nexolate's thread (if you're willing to brush off the cobwebs), and Bob's artwork thread. You'll find that a lot of people that make sigs now, their first sig was the very definition of WIP. Once you start trying out some tutorials, I am positive you'll start turning out better sigs.

Take what I've said above into consideration. Be slow to anger and don't jump to conclusions. Doing those two things is something you shouldn't do, especially when receiving constructive criticism. Use a shopping cart method for what people say about your artwork (don't take everything to heart, just what you know you need to work on).

Regards,

Major Nuker

I don't want this thread to close. So everyone settle down and just shake hands. I will start first. *Shakes Majo Nuker's hand* Welcome to my Sig Shop! Walks over to Medve, shakes hand 'Welcome!', walks over to Nexolate "sorry buddy, my bad', walks over to Warbz, 'Ok, I'll chill, but you too as i haven't said anything since Medve did.' Exits room*

*Closes door*
