A work in progress, leave me alone.

ccleaner is da bomb, it has the best fatures,
uninstall
delete programs in the regestry
clean up the crap
"fix" the regestry (not everything)
edit auto run at startup

forgot:
avast: is a good free anti virus that updates daily, i have it on 4 laptops and 8 desktops and i never had a problem (avast.com)
system mechanic 7 pro: good 30 day trial run it to fix your computer than uninstall when done the trial is fully functioning (iolo.com)
registry toolkit for windows 95-xp: can defragment the registry but i forgot where i got it.
pc optimizer pro: super ccleaner but when clearing your tracks you will need to reconnect to the internet becuase it defaults that setting in windows. forgot where i for it.

go to pcpitstop.com and run the scans they have on thier home page, scans for virus speed fragmentation spyware drivers ect.

Just a mention that i too use Avast these days but its not completely a freeware. you need to register with an email id after a month in order to continue using it. But its more then worth it.

Hey pimp, could you add some freeware music/music editing programs?

I just think you should put a new category for gaming software, then put Xfire, Teamspeak, Ventrillio and mIRC in there to start off with, and yeah, some music editing programs would be sweet!

There is one software package that makes Vista Totally Awesome but you lose the eyecady to use it. Its called Windows XP SP2.

Also the list for daily use task. IRC and Team chat softwares are just not that useful for your average user

Extensions, it's more secure and it has almost unlimited customizability. Your "favourites bar" = the Bookmark toolbar.

Anyway, get some of Bob's recommended extensions and you're good to go.

Use Vixy. You don't need any software apart from a browser, it converts it to many formats (including audio only). I think this is what He's looking for.

Hey Prophet, did you ever use 7Zip, 'cause I have it, and wanted to know if there are better (FREE by the way, can't pull money outta my ass) ones out there. To be honest I use it only for .rar files.
